hiking with tots

It was a perfect morning for a "hike" at the top of Anvil Mountain with our friends Zoe, Jasper, Elise & Huckleberry.

 I've decided that when you are 7 months pregnant toddlers are the best hiking companions.

 They take lots of rests to enjoy the vistas.

 They aren't shy about breaking into the snacks right away. 

And they share.

 They pay attention to details, and appreciate the small things...

...maybe because they are used to being small in this big world.

 Nothing better than sharing a gorgeous day with friends.

 And wildflowers on the tundra.

 Nobody really worries too much about which path to take.

And there's plenty of time for contemplation. Both human and canine.
