Whirled Peas--Christmas Ornament Giveaway

I've already confessed how I have a new obsession for needle felting.
and I just can't stop myself from making a bazillion of these felted pea-in-the-pod ornaments. (I got the idea from this awesome blog)
They are everything I love... quirky, whimsical, natural, made from all biodegradable materials, and they remind me that inside every dried up seed pod is a little kernel of life, just waiting for spring to return.
and, naturally, they lend themselves to all kinds of puns.
But really, the world could use a little more peas during the holidays. Don't you think?
If you you need some whirled peas to deck your halls, leave me a comment below--tell me what you will do to bring more peace (or peas) into the world in 2012.
I will randomly select a winner on December 1st.

celebratory pottery give away

Just got a nice batch of new pots out of the kiln this week and
1. The glazes looked great
and
2. None of them stuck to the shelf.
I thought I would celebrate by having a little blog give away.
I am feeling so celebratory, in fact, that I am giving away two things:)
Up First: This sweet little vase.  It stands about 5" high and you can use it for flowers, or get yourself a stopper and keep your olive (or seal) oil in it:)  Food safe, made with love.

And for those of you who may be hankering for some quirky buttons: A collection of 10 one-of-a-kind hand-carved, black and white porcelain buttons.  They may not be the exact ones shown in this picture, but they will be similar in size and design. Guaranteed to clink together satisfyingly in either hand or pocket.

Giveaway will be open until August 20th.  To enter, just leave a comment below with your name or your blog, and tell me what you are celebrating this week.
(Also, tell me what you would like to win--vase or buttons.)
Make sure to check back on August 21st to see if you won!

M.I.Y Monday: Pottery Giveaway

There is a lot going on this week besides Make it Yourself Monday. There is Iditarod, St. Patrick's Day, and the Ides of March, among other things.  Me thinks this calls for a celebration, don't you?  I am celebrating by doing a pottery giveaway. There is nothing I like better to make myself than a fun ceramic form.  Last week we made colanders in my "Jazz up the Kitchen" class, so I am going to offer this lovely blue one for one lucky winner.

MIY monday- crochet headband pattern & BLOG GIVEAWAY!

Hello, my name is Tara, and I am hooked on crochet.  Unfortunately, I also suffer from a lesser-know condition called crochet-D-D (crochet+A.D.D put together, get it?--forgive the terrible pun) This condition requires that every now and then I find a quick and easy project that I can finish in less than a couple of hours.  Therefore, when I saw the cute crocheted headbands my friend Esther has been making, I decided to pick up my hook and make up a simple, easy pattern.  I will include the pattern I made below, for all you crafty blog stalkers out there.

I am also doing the first EVER Making a Good Life BLOG GIVEAWAY!!!
So here is the deal.  If you are a stalker reader of this blog, and want to win the headband pictured below,  just leave a comment below with your name and tell me why you read this blog.  Next Monday, I will use random.org to select a winner.  It is super easy, almost as easy as making this crocheted headband.
