Whirled Peas--Christmas Ornament Giveaway

I've already confessed how I have a new obsession for needle felting.
and I just can't stop myself from making a bazillion of these felted pea-in-the-pod ornaments. (I got the idea from this awesome blog)
They are everything I love... quirky, whimsical, natural, made from all biodegradable materials, and they remind me that inside every dried up seed pod is a little kernel of life, just waiting for spring to return.
and, naturally, they lend themselves to all kinds of puns.
But really, the world could use a little more peas during the holidays. Don't you think?
If you you need some whirled peas to deck your halls, leave me a comment below--tell me what you will do to bring more peace (or peas) into the world in 2012.
I will randomly select a winner on December 1st.

i'm not sure how to bring more peace to the world but i certainly can bring more peas into the world next march. it is our tradition to plant them on march 17th even though it is always way too cold still around here to do so.

  4. I read this this morning, and have been trying to think about what I can do to bring some peace to the world. As simple as it sounds, how about just being nice to people and giving them a break?

  6. While I can't say I want MORE of this in 2012, Sadie did show her dad some whirled pees tonight when she came into the bathroom while I was making the bath and said "Pees!" and spun around and peed in a circle. I was ready to blurt out some Papa Jihad but instead smiled and was thankful we were not on the carpet. Furthermore I can see she has some real potential to spell her name in the snow when she gets older, but maybe not at -15F... So pees out (Papa P)

  9. I so wish we were crafting together right now. I love how creative you are and how darn adorable you display your work. I sure hope I win one! So without delay to answer your question. I should be better at being a yes person. You know whenever someone asks something of me, that no matter what they will get a happy yes. Which really means giving more of my time, which I sadly admit I can be stingy and that better change.

  10. I love reading all the comments Tara. But I especially love those darn peas. I know I said I don't leave comments but I just gotta have one!
I'm with Ana though on this one. In 2012 I will be working my a** off to become the best nurse I can be to better my patient's lives and make a positive change in the world. Thanks for posting this. (Sarah Weavernips)

  13. Hi Glenn, Sorry I just saw your comment. The pods come from something called a bottle tree (ficus wood?). I've never seen one in real life as they are a warm climate loving tree, but I bought the pods from this etsy shop. Hope this helps!
