celebratory pottery give away

Just got a nice batch of new pots out of the kiln this week and
1. The glazes looked great
and
2. None of them stuck to the shelf.
I thought I would celebrate by having a little blog give away.
I am feeling so celebratory, in fact, that I am giving away two things:)
Up First: This sweet little vase.  It stands about 5" high and you can use it for flowers, or get yourself a stopper and keep your olive (or seal) oil in it:)  Food safe, made with love.

And for those of you who may be hankering for some quirky buttons: A collection of 10 one-of-a-kind hand-carved, black and white porcelain buttons.  They may not be the exact ones shown in this picture, but they will be similar in size and design. Guaranteed to clink together satisfyingly in either hand or pocket.

Giveaway will be open until August 20th.  To enter, just leave a comment below with your name or your blog, and tell me what you are celebrating this week.
(Also, tell me what you would like to win--vase or buttons.)
Make sure to check back on August 21st to see if you won!

  1. Vase: I'm celebrating rejoining the Nome community intentionally and indefinitely, looking forward to winters of skiiing and potlucks, summers of berries and fish, all year with good friends. Could use a nice Tara-made vase to set on my table (that I'll have eventually...) - laura

  6. Tara, you are beautifully talented! Like Erin, I'm always happy with anything Tara-created; your art is inspirational. I'm celebrating life in general, and especially my husband, my son, and our soon-to-arrive bundle (among so many other things!). Thanks for having such an intriguing blog. ;-)

  9. Oh my goodness, that vase is BEAUTIFUL! Do you have an etsy shop (or other online retail location? Nothing it jumping out at me from your pottery blog.) I'd LOVE to win that vase, but considering this is my first time commenting, I feel a bit weird about it. If you ever establish a presence on esty, I think I'll definitely frequent your shop... there are a few things on your pottery blog that are just beautiful too!

As to what I'm celebrating: Having my new house all unpacked, and the final week of summer before my 2nd year of grad school kicks into gear!

  11. As usual, I love all of your beautiful and creative handwork. But don't enter me in your give-away, as I want someone else to have the pleasure of saying " Look what Tara made! Isn't it great!" (Love the vase, and those buttons would make a great conversation piece-framed!) - We just celebrated our 44th anniversary at the beautiful area where you and Loren were married! :)

  12. Kim- I would love to set up an etsy shop, but so far I just haven't been able to get together a set inventory... I'm working on it though; it is item numero uno on my winter projects list.

Thanks for all the good words you guys--congratulations with all the great stuff that is happening in everyone's lives--anniversaries, new babies, grad school, summer projects, awesome! The giveaway is still open for 3 more days, so if you are out there blurking, go ahead and enter:)

  13. Hello. Just wondering if your giveaway winners are ever outside of Nome (other than family)? I'd like to enter because you make great things, but I don't live in Nome. I'm guessing you choose local winners so that you don't have to ship. Which is fine, and really, I can't blame you...but maybe you should just make it a local giveaway? Or maybe you've had outside Nome winners that I somehow missed. Looks like they're always local, though. :(
